Prioritizing pages for AI search improvement

Inside this lesson

  • How to score pages and fixes by impact and effort
  • Which page types usually matter most
  • How to build a 90-day fix plan

Short answer

Prioritize AI search improvements by scoring each fix on business value, expected visibility impact, and effort. Fix technical blockers first, then improve high-value pages already close to being cited, such as pages ranking well in organic search or cited on one platform but not others. Leave low-value, high-effort projects for later. A simple 1 to 5 score turns a long gap list into a 90-day plan.

Score each fix

Use three scores from 1 (low) to 5 (high):

Priority = (Business value + Impact) × (6 − Effort)

The (6 − Effort) part rewards easy fixes. A blocker always goes first regardless of score.

Pages that usually come first

  1. Money pages: top service, product, and pricing pages
  2. Near-miss pages: ranking top 10 in Google or cited on one AI platform already
  3. Misquoted pages: pages behind wrong facts in AI answers
  4. Gap pages: new pages for questions where only competitors are cited

Build a 90-day plan

MonthFocus
Month 1All blockers, Bing setup, top 5 money pages rewritten answer-first
Month 2Product attribute gaps, entity cleanup, schema fixes
Month 3New gap pages, original data piece, third-party outreach

Example: An Antipolo resort had 22 fixes. Scoring put “allow Cloudflare verified bots” and “add rate tables to room pages” on top. Both took one afternoon. Within six weeks, the resort appeared in ChatGPT and Perplexity answers for “Antipolo resort with private pool price,” while the website redesign waited for month three.

Assign an owner and a due date to every fix. A plan without owners rarely ships.

Questions beginners ask

Should I start with blog posts or product pages?

Usually product and service pages, because they drive revenue. Use blog posts to win citations on problem questions that lead to those pages.

What if everything looks important?

Limit yourself to 5 to 10 fixes per month. Finished small fixes beat a large unfinished plan.
